Outreach
St. John's UMC Food Pantry serves 140-150 families each Thursday. As a client-choice pantry, clients can shop for nonperishables, fresh produce, frozen meat, and bread. We pick up food donations from area grocery stores and food establishments on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Everyone is welcome to receive assistance on Thursdays 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm. *Clients must live in Monmouth County or Ocean County to receive food assistance
Register:
Open every Thursday evening, 5:30 - 7:00 pm. We are located in the back parking lot of St. John's UMC. To register, come between 5:30 - 7:00 pm on a Thursday, and a volunteer will assist you. Clients are welcome to come weekly. Everyone is welcome to receive food. Need to arrive early.
*Clients must live in Monmouth County or Ocean County to receive food assistance
Wednesday Volunteer Opportunities-
Volunteers are welcome on Wednesdays from 3:00-5:30 pm to sort donated food in preparation for Thursday distribution.
*Volunteers must be at least a freshman in high school to volunteer on Wednesday nights

Thursday Volunteers Opportunities-
Thursday night food distribution volunteering hours are 3:30 - 7:30 pm. Thursday night volunteers must arrive by 5:00 pm and be available to volunteer during the complete duration of open hours (5:30 - 7:00 pm).

Donate:
Non-perishable food donations can be made 24/7 in the Food Donation bin located in the back parking lot of St. John's UMC. Non-perishable donations can also be made at ShopRite of Hazlet, in the donation bin in front of the check-out area. To donate perishable items, please text 732-290-5434, and arrangements will be made.

Food is prepared and delivered to transitional housing facilities in the area for needy individuals and families. We serve about 45-50 cooked meals and provide uncooked food to 24 disabled veterans.

Youth Missions
Opportunities to serve our neighbors near and far with home repair projects.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Crocheted and knitted baby blankets for baptisms, shawls, and lap robes for shut-ins, infirmed members, and friends.
Backpack Ministry
School supplies and new backpacks given to Food Pantry children and area children in need.
Sharing Tree
Hats, scarves, mittens, and gloves donated at Christmas for distribution to children and adults through the Food Pantry.
